Living in Grenoble / Life style

We suggest to visit the GIANT website, especially the section "Living in Grenoble".

Lodging

A popular option for short living students (a few months) is CROUS. For 300€/month (2018) you can get your own room with shared bathroom and kitchen with other students. Internet, electricity and heat included. If contract not yet signed, I write a justification letter.

« A mountain at the end of every street » - Stendhal

Welcome in the heart of the French Alps !

Capital of the French Alps, Grenoble owes its development and success to its unique geographical location at the junction of three valleys leading, respectively, to Switzerland, Italy and the Rhone valley. The city is surrounded by three mountain ranges - Belledonne, Chartreuse and Vercors -, which is why the author Stendhal famously said of the city that there is a mountain at the end of every street.

Grenoble, a city of many talents

At the heart of the city, an historic centre which bears witness to a rich and prestigious past dating back more than 2000 years a city with a diverse cultural offering :

  • museums, concert venues and theatres, jazz, music and theatre festivals
  • unique surroundings, which make Grenoble a playground for many sports, from water sports and hiking to rock climbing and skiing - all year round
  • a considerable reputation as a university city, which attract many students from around the world.
